Las Vegas is Spanish for “The Meadow”, in English a vega is much the same—a grassy moist fertile area, and also refers to a constellation (Lyra) or a star. Can you tell I pulled this from a dictionary?

These photographs were taken over the space of a couple of hours on a late May night. They are portraits from Las Vegas, and for a variety of reasons could not have been taken anywhere else. Apparently, nor could these have been taken at another time. I have tried twice since these, with little success.
